AMRITSAR: A dismissed cop and his son had been the masterminds of the robbery on the G T Road department of the Central Bank of India.
Police commissioner Arun Pal Singh knowledgeable on Saturday that police had arrested Charanjit Singh and his son Sargermanjit Singh, resident of Batala, and recovered a Swift automobile from their possession used within the dacoity.
Charanjit was dismissed from Punjab police in 2008 who had allegedly plotted the bank robbery together with his son.
Police had earlier arrested Sarpargatjit Singh alias Japan and Daljit Singh and recovered Rs 244529 together with cash price Rs 154529 from them together with 1 rifle, 6 rounds, and 1 toy pistol.
The alleged accused had dedicated the bank robbery on May 6.
