The route, which begins in Sankri village in Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand, winds by Govind Wildlife Sanctuary and ends at Kedarkantha peak (12,500 toes). An enduring enchantment of the trek is that it affords starkly numerous landscapes if undertaken in March/April. Meadows, lakes, pine and oak forests abloom in welcome of summer season dot the decrease sections of the path, whereas the upper stretches particularly after the Juda ka Taal campsite, are swathed in snow. Closer to the summit, trekkers are met with the surreal cluster of Himalayan peaks: Nanda Ghunti, Swargarohini, Kalanag peak and Bandarpunch.
